**Join SA Health's Leading Team: Consultant - Oesophago-Gastric Surgery Role Available with SALHN.**

As a Consultant in the Oesophago-Gastric Surgery Unit, you will provide specialized care to patients through consulting clinics, emergency services, operative procedures, and comprehensive inpatient management. This multifaceted position contributes to the full continuum of care, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and surveillance activities for oesophageal and gastric conditions. Additionally, you will play a vital role in teaching programs, audits, practice improvement initiatives, and driving innovation through research within the field of oesophago-gastric surgery.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, Oesophago-Gastric Surgery, some of your duties as the consultant may involve:

- Assisting where required with the investigation and prevention of patient incidents and complaints.
- Acting as a role model and mentor for medical students, registrars, resident medical officers and interns.
- Assisting where required with the investigation and prevention of patient incidents and complaints.

**About you**:

- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in the field of General Surgery.
- Post-fellowship training in oesophago-gastric surgery - AANZGOSA training program or equivalent experience.
- Conjoint Committee recognition of training in gastroscopy.
- Extensive experience in oesophago-gastric surgical practice.
- Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Oesophago-Gastric Surgery.
- Experience in clinical work, teaching, and research in the specialty of General Surgery.
