OMERS Infrastructure, the infrastructure private equity arm of OMERS, is a pioneer and global leader in infrastructure direct investing with over 20 years of experience originating, structuring, and actively managing infrastructure investments. We have over 65 investment professionals across offices in Toronto, New York, London, Singapore, and Sydney. A diversified global portfolio of airports, nuclear generation, pipelines, ports, renewable power, telecommunication, toll roads, utilities, and other essential services.

OMERS Infrastructure is currently seeking an Associate Director to join its dynamic investment team in Sydney. In this role you will report to the Director, Asset Management (“AM”) and work closely with the broader Asia Pacific AM and Investment teams responsible for managing a diverse and complex portfolio of assets across the Asia Pacific region.

**As a member of this team, you will be responsible for**:

- Drive/coordinate specific projects relating to Portfolio Companies, for example:

- undertake analytical deep dives on valuation/capital projects/capital structure etc.
- provide M&A support for follow-on investments
- develop 100-day plans following acquisition
- identify operating/capital efficiency opportunities
- support strategy development and annual Business Planning processes
- assist with asset reporting, both internally and externally (third party capital)
- assess corporate governance, policies, and risk frameworks
- coordinate/align co-shareholders
- work with the Management of Portfolio Companies on various strategic/operational initiatives
- Support the AM Team in improving AM practices through, for example:

- benchmarking AM practices in peer organisations to identify key learnings/opportunities
- research Board evaluation and assessment practices and identify best practices
- propose and lead projects that create value-add in AM practices
- co-ordinate/lead the roll out of global AM initiatives
- lead the development of training/best practice sharing materials on selected AM topics
- identify AM thought leadership topics and bring them to the wider Infrastructure team
- Develop and maintain a network of advisors and experts on key AM Themes and leverage this network to enhance AM practices and insight across OMERS Infrastructure

**To succeed in this role, you have**:

- Minimum 6 years of experience in infrastructure asset management/investments and/or advisory; or management consulting; or infrastructure operational role
- An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Law or Engineering with strong understanding of asset valuations. Postgraduate degree will be looked upon favorably.
- Intellectual curiosity with a capacity to embrace complex challenges
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make practical recommendations
- Flexibility with an ability to adapt to very different project types and work across a range of cultures and settings
- Strong written and verbal communications skills able to influence and impact at senior levels in OMERS and/or in Portfolio Companies
- Strong EQ with a proven ability to build open and trusting relationships and achieve significant outcomes through influence
