Our client is seeking a Virtualisation and Infrastructure Designer who will deliver a high and detailed design implementation of Infrastructure, End Point Management and End User Compute components of the SDTE (System Development and Testing Environment) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Cyber Operations & Research Network (ACORN). This position is intended primarily to provide ongoing infrastructure design of the ACORN as it matures, and the implementation of the SDTE. This role will design how SDTE/ACORN tenants are managed and distributed among the clusters. **Responsibilities**: - Work collaboratively with the ACORN team to produce High Level and Detailed Design documents with a focus on Systems Engineering design and traceability concepts. This person will be asked to produce DODAF 2.0 style OV (Operational View) and SV (System View) diagrams in both the High Level and Detail Design spaces. - Work Collaboratively with T&E and OT&E teams to help in "Transition into Service" activities by assisting in the design and implementation of "Test Harnesses". - Work with the ACORN Stream Lead and produce Trade Studies when needed to provide the best guidance. - Plan and Schedule Infrastructure rollouts in geographically distributed data centres - Provide advice and guidance in aspects of infrastructure deployment. **Experience Required**: **Essential**: - At least 10 years of experience with configuring Converged and Hyper Converged Infrastructure required. - Strong understanding of VMWare, Openshift; and Citrix is required - Sound understanding of BMC's (Bare Metal Controller) like iDRAC, iLOM, and other vendor supported BMC's is required. **Desirable**: - Strong understanding of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap management. - Strong understanding of containerisation (Tanzu Kubernetes with ISTIO service mesh) - Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodology
