Barista/all Rounder

A **Barista** is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and delivering excellent customer service in a café, coffee shop, or restaurant. Baristas are also skilled in using espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment, ensuring that customers receive high-quality beverages.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Prepare Coffee and Beverages**:

- Brew coffee, espresso drinks, and other specialty beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and iced coffees.
- Use professional equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers, to prepare drinks.
- Create custom coffee orders based on customer preferences.
- **Customer Service**:

- Greet customers with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
- Take customer orders accurately and prepare beverages promptly.
- Provide information on menu items, including coffee blends, seasonal specials, and food pairings.
- Maintain a positive, helpful attitude even during busy hours.
- **Maintain Cleanliness and Organization**:

- Clean and maintain coffee-making equipment, counters, tables, and workstations.
- Restock inventory (e.g., coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups) and keep track of supplies.
- Ensure cleanliness of the café or coffee shop area, including floors and seating areas.
- **Cash Handling and Register Operations**:

- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately.
- Maintain a balanced register and ensure that all transactions are recorded properly.
- Provide customers with receipts and give back the correct change.
- **Monitor Quality and Consistency**:

- Ensure that all beverages are made to company standards and customer expectations.
- Adjust coffee grind sizes, water temperatures, and milk frothing techniques to ensure consistent quality.
- **Teamwork and Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with other baristas, waitstaff, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Help train new baristas or team members on coffee preparation techniques.
- **Customer Satisfaction**:

- Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Suggest new or seasonal drinks to customers based on their preferences.

**Key Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Prior experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred.
- **Coffee Knowledge**: Basic understanding of coffee types, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- **Customer Service Skills**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- **Attention to Detail**: Accuracy in drink preparation and customer orders.
- **Multitasking Ability**: Able to handle busy periods, work efficiently, and juggle multiple orders.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand for long periods, work with machines, and move quickly during busy times.
- **Basic Math Skills**: For handling cash and making change.

**Customer Service**:

- Take accurate food and drink orders from customers and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
- Provide information on the menu, suggest dishes, and accommodate special dietary requests.
- Ensure customers’ needs are met throughout their meal (e.g., refilling drinks, clearing empty plates).

**Serving Food and Beverages**:

- Deliver food and drinks to customers’ tables in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure food orders are correct and meet the customer’s preferences.
