Nutrition Officer

The Nutrition Officer reports directly to the Nutrition Manager and functionally to the Formulation Supervisor. This role works closely with the formulation supervisor, providing capability for all formulation tasks.
The Nutrition Officer is responsible for daily formulation tasks, liaising with the Formulator Supervisor and various other departments when short-term changes are required to ensure the continuity of the manufacturing process. This role arranges various inputs, such as logístical constraints, production requirements, physical quality, raw material quality, raw material prices and nutritional requirements into an efficient feed output for the production process.
At an advanced level, the Nutrition Officer understands nutritional concepts and uses this knowledge to compile products that maximize animal health and performance, and assures timely reformulation to meet nutrient and ingredient specifications with raw materials available at the manufacturing location. They provide formulation services for product customization and support technical services and marketing in product development.
This position supports design and development (D&D) projects. The Nutrition Officer assists the Formulation Supervisor and procurement with cost benefit analysis of raw material opportunities from the Raw Material Innovation strategy.
