**About the role**

The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the Financial Review are Australia’s most awarded newsrooms, breaking the biggest stories with bravery and balance. We are trusted by over 12.8 million Australians every month to deliver breaking news, investigative journalism and unmissable analysis on the issues that matter to them.

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Copywriter to help us create engaging and impactful campaigns for our leading brands,The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the Financial Review. Sitting in the Subscriptions & Marketing Team, within the in-house design team, you will work closely with the broader marketing teams to respond to marketing briefs to help drive brand KPIs and subscription revenue.

You will help ensure our brand messages are distinct across all formats and channels, maintaining consistency and brand tone of voice. You will also have the opportunity to engage with external creative agencies, ensuring that all copy is aligned and consistent.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and creative Copywriter to join our team and help continue to grow our digital subscription business.

In this role you will:

- Be responsible for creation and execution of impactful campaign messaging
- Work in a team with graphic designers and other external creative partners
- Thrive on working in a fast pace, deadline driven environment and will always strive to deliver high standard, market leading work
- Develop strong working relationships with your team, peers and external stakeholders.
- Develop a deep knowledge of the industry, including an understanding of the marketing challenges, business objectives and the role of creative copywriting in achieving those
- Responsible for adhering to creative briefs, and timings; proofing and checking copy.
- You will constantly look for ways to improve relevance, usability, and copy delivery on a regular basis
- You will take ownership of messaging matrices, style guides, and tone of voice

**Qualifications**:
**What you'll bring to the role**:

- Experience working in a similar role with a focus on marketing copy is essential, ideally gained in an agency environment.
- A passion for developing and creating market leading work to the highest standard
- Excellent understanding of what makes for standout creative work and the ability to engage and demonstrate your ideas effectively
- A strong knowledge of the business objectives and the role of creative in achieving these objectives
- Ability to confidently communicate with and influence stakeholders.
- Ablility to perform in a rapid, dynamic environment where critical thinking, agility, creativity and confidence are essential.
