Melbourne, Australia KPMG Full time

**Economic Analyst, Planning and Infrastructure Economics**

Planning for our cities and regions and their infrastructure needs is complex, as is understanding how they will grow and which projects will enhance community wellbeing and prosperity now, and into the future.

The challenge lies in the need to balance a ‘predict and provide’ approach that addresses immediate infrastructure demands with strategic infrastructure, which has the potential to shape the future and alter demand patterns.

Our **Planning & Infrastructure Economics** team help plan for our places, cities and regions now and into the future by helping develop and prioritise projects and generate sustainable community benefits.

**Your Opportunity - Economic Analyst (Senior Consultant or Manager levels)**

Our **Melbourne** team has a focus on energy and decarbonisation, transport and social infrastructure sector investments. You will ideally bring interest, skills and experiences in economic analysis in these or similar sectors.

This position will play a key role in our team by:

- Helping to develop and provide strategic advice to our clients in the planning and prioritisation of infrastructure investments across housing, transport, education and skills, health, energy and decarbonisation, water, and community infrastructure.
- Undertaking economic modelling and analysis, developing policies and strategies, delivering feasibility studies and business cases for infrastructure investments.
- Contributing to sustaining our positive culture, which is integral to the success of our team.
- Being supported with tailored learning and development training opportunities and working with industry leaders, enabling you to shape your growth and development at KPMG.
- Working in a flexible environment across the Home, Office, and Client hubs.

**How are you extraordinary?**
- You are confident in providing economic modelling and analysis and strategic advice to help shape infrastructure investment decisions.
- You have recent experience in quantitative analysis, cost-benefit analysis, geospatial analysis, data visualisation and/or model development.
- You have a passion for facilitating better community outcomes through enhanced infrastructure, assets, and places.

**Your Experience**

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. You will bring to the team your qualifications, skills & experience such as:

- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and written communication skills, combined with high attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle competing demands and work as a team player in a dynamic and results-based environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, urban planning, commerce, business, law, public policy, or other relevant areas.
- A strong interest and commitment in the use of technology and data to improve the way in which infrastructure projects are planned, delivered, and managed.
