**Mechanical Design Manager**

With over 100 years of engineering history, this Australian company operates a diverse and wide variety of work across multiple sectors across all major engineering disciplines. Designing, Manufacturing and maintaining equipment across Australia, this OEM is in high demand.

You as the Design Manager will work within a specialized engineering department and be based in Newcastle. You will be responsible for managing a team of Mechanical Designers and come up with new design concepts to service your customer needs. You will also be able to see your designs come to life as they are manufactured on site.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

- Experience in a technical lead position or management role.
- 7 + years working in a heavy industry engineering design discipline.
- Experience in terms of design using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
- Diploma in mechanical engineering or Mechanical drafting.
- The ability to work in as part of a team dynamic
- Experience working with transport equipment will be highly advantageous.

This role is not an engineering position. We are looking for Mechanical Designers and drafters that are looking to lead Mechanical teams and have experience in drafting.
