**THE ROLE**

The Solicitor, Housing Team, will be required, with mínimal supervision, to provide high quality legal advice, representation and support to our clients. Your advice must be clear, accurate and appropriate to meeting our clients' needs.

Your work will include advising on a broad range of property law, statutory interpretation and administrative law matters. You will also prepare property transaction agreements, other legal documents, Ministerial correspondence, Cabinet submissions, written reports and briefings. You will work closely with the Legislation and Policy team to advise on the legal aspects in the development and implementation of legislative projects and subordinate instruments for the Housing portfolio.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Provide well-reasoned legal advice, briefings and correspondence.
- Support the development and implementation of legislation projects, regulations and subordinate instruments, including advising on the development of legislation, and preparing drafting instructions, explanatory memoranda, statements of compatibility and bill books.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver client focused legal services.
