The Role
The EL 1 Project Controller within Army Uncrewed Aerial Systems UAS Acquisition Project Office (AUAS APO) will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve very complex planning, scheduling and financial control work within an integrated workforce. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
The EL 1 Project Controller will lead a Project and Financial Control cell within AUAS APO and will be accountable for the outcomes of the teams work and the appropriate use of resources to produce and achieve outcomes. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching and feedback and reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit. They may exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes.
The EL 1 Project Controller will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area.

Expertise in developing project and program briefs, reports and documentation using a range of tools and techniques
Excellent leadership skills including the ability to manage and motivate a team
Strong problem-solving and issues resolution skills
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, resolve and mitigate risks associated with financial and scheduling activities
Ability to provide expert policy advice and guidance on financial control and scheduling matters
