**Full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months with the potential opportunity to extend to the end of 2027**

**Seeking a Community Facilitator who identifies as Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander to lead, plan and contribute to the Culturally Nourishing Schooling (CNS) Project.**

The Culturally Nourishing Schooling (CNS) project is a practice and research informed program aimed at better engaging and supporting the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The collaborative project between several Australian universities, local communities, and schools works to establish a strengths-based program that supports whole-of-school change and fosters long-term relationships between schools and their local communities. By engaging selected schools in a program of leadership and professional learning strategies backed by our research, CNS supports this change by helping educators rethink their approach to teaching and curriculum, and empowering schools to lead their own learning and community engagement practices.

The SA Community Facilitator will lead and strategically plan, develop and contribute to implementing the community engagement aspect of the CNS Project within selected SA schools and communities. The role involves working closely with the schools and their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff, and both state and local community organisations (such as SAAETCC, PYEC and Lands Councils) as they work towards the development of a long-term educational partnership. The Community Facilitator will not only provide professional support for Cultural Mentors and Aboriginal Education Officers (ACEO) within CNS schools but will also work with school leaders and teachers to build skills and knowledge that will ensure schools are effectively engaging with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff members, families, and local communities in productive and culturally safe ways.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Proven track record in leading, modelling and supporting relationship building activities involving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples and those from public institutions such as teachers and principals.
- Engaging with the educational sector (or similar institutional environment) across urban, rural and remote settings, including willingness and capacity for frequent travel and facilitating in-person professional learning activities.
- Proven record of work with and for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and Communities in ways that demonstrates strong relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
