**Mental Health Support Worker - NDIS**

**Location**: South Eastern Suburb

**Job Type**: Casual

Ongoing shift available is Wednesday 11:00am to 3:00pm and Saturdays 4 hours. Other temporary shifts are available

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals living with mental health challenges? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Mental Health Support Worker** to assist our NDIS participants in achieving emotional well-being, independence, and improved quality of life.

**About the Role**:
In this role, you will work closely with an individual whose primary support needs relate to mental health. As a key part of the participant’s care team, your focus will be to foster emotional regulation, build resilience, and empower the client to achieve their personal goals. This is a highly rewarding role where you will see the direct impact of your support on the client's mental health and daily life.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one emotional support and active listening.
- Assist with building positive coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Support the client to engage in community activities and therapeutic programs.
- Monitor and respond to changes in the client’s mental health, ensuring timely interventions.
- Collaborate with other health professionals and stakeholders to impliment person-centred care plans.
- Promote independence and personal growth through goal-setting and skill-building activities.
- Maintain accurate case notes and uphold confidentiality.

**About You**:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Social Work, or related field (or working towards).
- Previous experience in mental health, community services, or disability support (prefered)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and person-centred approaches (prefered)
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Supplementary Pay:
