Infrastructure Solution Designer

We have a 12-month contract role reporting to the manager of Infrastructure Engineering for an Infrastructure Solution designer. The role includes work that requires some mini-project coordination work when it comes to delivery, so would be looking for a technical all-rounder who can pull a design together and help coordinate the delivery of that design with technical SMEs.

**What you’ve done**:

- Experience in technical design processes -requirements gathering, generating design documentation, and implementation planning
- Experience in supporting project planning, delivery, and execution - familiarity with project management concepts
- Familiarity with the project budget and resource planning estimations
- Ability to identify and report risks, as well as plan mitigation and resolution approaches
- Experience in some or all of the following areas of IT infrastructure, sufficient to understand functional aspects of each area and collaborate with specialists as required:
**Operating Systems** - RHEL and/or Windows - configuration, deployment, and management

**Supporting services** such as Active Directory and monitoring platforms

**Networking** - physical switching concepts, IP networking, and VLANs

**Firewalls** - rule definition and implementation concepts

**Hardware** - specification and installation requirements such as cabling

**Virtualisation** - Virtual machine specification and general VMware platform capability

**Databases** - Connectivity and deployment requirements

**IT security principles** - least privilege, access controls, and assurance

**Application concepts** - availability, connectivity, and performance aspects
