The Head of Systematic Market Making leads the development, implementation, and management of systematic market-making strategies across various financial markets. This role is central to ensuring liquidity, managing risks, and driving profits through automated trading strategies, making it both highly technical and strategically oriented.

**Requirements**:
**Strategy Development and Optimization**:

- **Design and refine market-making strategies**: Work with the team to create and enhance algorithmic trading strategies that provide liquidity and capture spreads in the market.
- **Focus on continuous improvement**: Regularly backtest and stress-test models to adapt to changing market conditions and enhance profitability.
- **Innovate with data and techniques**: Employ statistical models, machine learning, and quantitative analysis to create and improve strategies in various asset classes (e.g., equities, FX, crypto).

**Risk Management**:

- **Set risk limits and controls**: Establish and enforce robust risk management parameters tailored to market-making activities, balancing liquidity provision with acceptable risk levels.
- **Monitor and manage exposure**: Keep a close eye on inventory positions, market exposure, and potential adverse events, ensuring that risk limits are respected.
- **Conduct scenario and stress testing**: Test strategies under simulated extreme market conditions to anticipate and mitigate risks.

**Technology and Infrastructure Management**:

- **Ensure low-latency systems**: Work with IT and engineering teams to develop and maintain ultra-low latency trading infrastructure, which is crucial for efficient market-making.
- **Optimize trading algorithms**: Oversee the fine-tuning of algorithms to reduce latency, enhance execution quality, and minimize slippage.
- **Leverage automation**: Automate repetitive processes to improve operational efficiency, allowing traders and quants to focus on high-value tasks.

**Research and Innovation**:

- **Research market trends**: Stay on top of developments in trading technology, market structure, and regulatory changes to inform strategic adjustments.
- **Experiment with new data and techniques**: Encourage the team to test emerging data sources and technologies (e.g., alternative data, deep learning) that may enhance strategy performance.
- **Promote a culture of innovation**: Continuously seek improvements in trading efficiency and profitability, staying competitive in a rapidly evolving market environment.
