**About You**:
You are proactive, have an excellent eye for detail, and have a passion for quality construction. Success in this role depends on your ability to undertake thorough inspections and communicate the outcome of your investigation with professionalism and accountability.
**Key Outcomes and Accountabilities**:
Provide expert technical advice to consumers, internal customers, stakeholders and industry groups relating to building work in the State of Queensland.
**Manage a case load that includes**: conducting reactive and proactive technical investigations, preparation of detailed reports and arranging expert assessments/determinations of technical and/or contractual matters.
Mediate between contractors and consumers to resolve disputes relating to building work.
Prepare technical reports and statements for disciplinary proceedings and give evidence before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and other Courts.
Contribute towards the office's operational planning activities.
Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.

**Requirements**:
Current Builder Licence issued by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (mandatory).
Current driver's licence (motor vehicle) (mandatory).
Possess or be able to complete the requisite studies within 6-months of appointment, funded by the QBCC, to achieve the qualification of Certificate IV in Government Investigations (mandatory).
Proficient computer literacy for report preparation.
Strong organisational skills and punctuality.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Prepare and deliver written documentation of findings from your investigation.
Ability to inspect building work and provide advice on the as constructed works to ensure the works meet applicable building codes, Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications, local ordinances and zoning regulations.
Skills in utilising specialist equipment in performing inspections.
