This is an opportunity for someone with some prior admin, accounting or legal experience to learn and grow in Contract review and administration skills in Project businesses in the construction industry.

Two small growing family businesses (sister companies) based in Bathurst, NSW serving the construction industry across Australia are looking for someone who is detail-orientated but pragmatic to assist with contract review, negotiation and compliance. A proven process is in place but we are always looking to continuously improve our checklists and methodologies with a customer-first mindset whilst ensuring adequate risk management. Due to the nature of project work, the workload will fluctuate and at times there will be a need to fast track the work.

The overarching goals in the role include:

- achieving agreement with the client on contract terms in the shortest possible time, with the best possible customer experience, but achieving company risk management outcomes
- ensuring Operations are aware of, and abide by, contractual obligations on a weekly basis
- ensuring payment claims are issued in accordance with the contract
- regular check-in with PMs to ensure best practice contracts administration including sending of notices required under a contract.
- implementing contracts with subcontract installers

To be considered for this role you will
- preferably have some legal or accounts experience, have had exposure to legal wording or be great with English and a quick learner
- be able to learn to understand and interpret contract terminology and wording
- have the ability to learn to craft simple but effective wording for additional clauses
- learn to assess risks to determine best, common sense course of action, consulting owners/operations where needed
- be good with people and an effective negotiator (or be keen to learn to be)

As a person you will:

- understand the need for customer focus
- be an effective communicator and be able to work with a team
- be flexible and able to work within the dynamics of small family business
- be analytical and pedantic about the details while maintaining a big picture approach.
- be conscientious and dedicated to follow through thoroughly to achieve successful outcomes

Familiarity with the Construction Industry would be an advantage. Prior exposure to small business desirable.

Internal and external expert guidance and training is available for all aspects of the role.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
