The Fund Implementation team have established a best practice global implementation operating model for private market deals, playing a critical role coordinating the Investment, Legal, Tax and Operational due diligence and review activities. This new model has driven improved deal efficiency allowed us to manage and implement increased transaction pipeline volumes and, as such, there is a clear focus on increasing private market allocations with an additional private market deal sourcing positions being recruited across private debt, Infrastructure, and property.

This Fund Implementation Analyst role will provide investment transaction and transition management support for investment implementation activities that that fall under the responsibility of the Head of Fund Implementation. This primarily involves project management and coordination of transaction and transition management events and well as more strategic analysis on implementation efficiency associated with asset restructures and transition management. In this role, you will ultimately contribute to the implementation of a best-in-class transaction and transition management platform that supports the Mercer Funds.

The Fund Implementation Analyst will report to Head of Fund Implementation and work closely with Private Market Portfolio Managers as well as the broader Pacific Portfolio Management (PM) team as required.

**Main responsibilities include but are not limited to -**

**Lead and coordinate Transition Management activities of the Mercer Funds**:
The Implementation Analyst will be responsible for improving implementation efficiency, reducing operational risk, minimising implementation leakage as asset transitions are undertaken for the Mercer Funds.

In particular, the Analyst will:

- Support the implementation of private market transactions of our multi asset class portfolios by reviewing transaction documents and support transaction legal/tax/KYC due diligence process.
- Provide post-implementation support to Portfolio Managers.
- Assist with periodic review and management of portfolio liquidity and currency hedging.
- Lead the private market investment data collection and validation.
- Support the outsourced transition management platform in terms of third party specialist providers and governing documentation. This includes understanding the business models of transition managers and their relative areas of strength, weakness and differentiation.
- Be a key stakeholder in decision making around the types of investment implementation activities that might require an asset transition. Such implementation activities include appointment of new managers, changes to manager structure, strategic or tactical asset allocation changes and portfolio rebalancing.
- Project manage and monitor all aspects of asset transitions through pre-execution, execution and post execution stages. This includes establishing the transition project, determining the transition strategy, preparing the letter of instruction, project planning, management of all risks, communications and stakeholder management.
- Develop a framework that reviews and documents transition outcomes. This includes pre and post reporting and analytics that quantifies actual transition outcomes in terms of cost (implicit and explicit) minimisation, risk management & mitigation and operational efficiency.
