We have a caring and committed staff, who strongly encourage responsible behaviour and constantly focus on student achievement so that our students have the best possible futures. **About the Role**: As the Head of Department - Home Economics at Beenleigh State High School you will; - Manage the curriculum implementation from year 7-12 utilising the National Curriculum and Vocational Education and Training (VET) policies. - Analyse data to identify potential growth opportunities for student pathways. - Manage the Trade Training Centre facility to ensure maximum opportunities for students are provided through a range of Hospitality functions and community events. - Build community partnerships with stakeholders to continue to develop future job opportunities for Hospitality students and promote Beenleigh SHS in a positive manner. - Guide teaching staff in managing all aspects of student behaviour and engagement and where required initiate a focussed approach using a range of strategies. - Develop a culture of continuous review and improvement through the annual review of goals and achievements. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; - Set high standards for student and staff performance. - Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. - Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. - Be futures oriented and strategic. - Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
