**Our Opportunity**

The **Project Planner & Scheduler **is a member of the AWS Project Management Office (PMO), which provides all planning and scheduling activities for projects managed within the AWS business Situated in the PMO team at Garden Island, NSW, the Project Planner& Scheduler is responsible for schedule development, scheduling, planning, monitoring and control activities across a range of projects and platforms, ensuring the project scope is well tracked, both in terms of time and cost.

The project schedules for maintenance and production periods will be developed using Primavera, Thales’s program management system. Schedule progressing, monitoring and controlling follows generally a Weekly cycle in accordance with reporting requirements to our Customers. This position reports functionally to the Manager, Program Management Systems and on a day to day basis to the Project Manager of the project to which the Planner is assigned to at a particular time and period.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, as well as planning and bids and estimating team to create and maintain valid and accurate bid and project schedules in Primavera.
- Advise the Project manager of scheduling / production issues that might impact on key schedule dates.
- Highlight areas of schedule and cost concern and identify potential actions for improving performance.
- Carry out analysis of project schedule and cost performance.
- Ensure data transfer, data coordination between various program management software systems to ensure capture of accurate performance data.
- Prepare regular reports and charts on project schedule progress and project performance.

**About You**
- Formal qualification in area of Engineering, Project Management or Project Planning/Control, suitable trade or engineering training & experience, or extensive industry experience in related field
- Understanding of naval/maritime projects, processes and procedures will be advantageous
- Experience in a ship building/repair or similar heavy engineering industry, and/or civil engineering field will be favourable
- Demonstrated skills in project schedule development
- Strong communication skills and collaborative working style

**Good to Know
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
