**The Division**

Transport’s Regional and Outer Metropolitan division’s purpose is to make regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit. Our division is made up of over 4,400 people in over 270 locations across NSW. We operate transport services and maintain our regional networks to help our regional communities and visitors stay safe and connected.

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Works Supervisor to join the Regional Maintenance Delivery team at Singleton to assist in the delivery of road maintenance and minor works activities for our Upper Hunter District.

The primary purpose of the Works Supervisor position is to provide a multidisciplinary works delivery capability in a specialist trade/ engineering discipline. The Works Supervisor is expected to lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of road maintenance and construction works to ensure delivery in accordance with time, quality and scope requirements.

**What you will be involved in**

This role is responsible for the planning of works delivery and allocating and coordinating resources across teams to ensure works are delivered in line with agreed time, cost, quality, environmental, safety standards and targets. The role includes assisting in the resource planning process for works and supervising major and minor contracts.

You will manage team and individual performance to meet pre-agreed time, cost and quality targets, specifications and project requirements by supervising and developing staff, establishing effective and safe processes, coordinating resources and ensuring an appropriate skills mix by identifying skills gaps and providing guidance and training.

You will maintain a diary of daily activities, and other records including those relating to compliance, work health and safety and environment and quality, to ensure the accuracy, compliance and timeliness of work performance reports.

You will manage the risks of assigned work by coordinating the collection, analysis and reporting of performance and safety measures, working with teams to identify investigate and remediate issues and develop solutions in support of time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.

You will implement and enforce appropriate compliance systems to ensure policy, contract specification and statutory (including WHS and Environmental) compliance.

**About you**

You have demonstrated experience with technologies, practices and processes of civil construction and maintenance works in a highly specialised field relevant to Agency works.

You have experience in leading crews to deliver road maintenance and minor works projects supervising direct control and contractor teams.

You have the ability to manage the allocation of resources to meet work objectives and monitor outputs to ensure resources are utilised productively and efficiently.

You are an effective communicator and able to successfully lead and manage crews to operate in a harmonious, productive and well-planned manner.

Your ability to work collaboratively, lead by example and influence others will inspire crews to be innovative and strive to achieve the best outcome for Transport for NSW and its customers.

You possess trade qualifications and/ or equivalent experience and current licenses/tickets in a field relevant to Agency works.

The salary for this position is USS Grade 8 ($104,181 to $111,796) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
