**The Role**
The APS 5 Formation Safety Advisor for HQ 8 Bde provides Work, Health and Safety (WHS) oversight and governance in support of the Formation's WHS management system.

They provide time sensitive safety policy and regulatory advice to the command executive group in relation to WHS incident management and interact with higher WHS policy decision makers to ensure optimal WHS performance outcomes in the 8 Bde training remit.

They must have a sound working knowledge and recent experience in WHS management.

This training role requires compliance with the WHS Act and requires a WHS advisor with a detailed understanding of WHS risk and hazard management in addition to the ability to provide timely appropriate WHS advice to Army decision makers.

An APS 5 WHS Advisor will ideally possess recent experience in dealing with incident management and reporting in accordance with relevant WHS Codes of Practice. They should be a confident communicator orally and in writing and have a basic grasp of WHS data reporting and analysis systems.
