You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces. **The Opportunity** As part of an exciting new structure within the People and Safety team, we’re looking for a passionate and proactive Wellbeing and Injury Management Lead to join Melton City Council’s growing Safety and Wellbeing team. This role is critical in shaping a positive and people-focused safety culture, supporting both work and non-work-related injuries, and leading the development and delivery of Council’s Employee Wellbeing Plan. Working within a collaborative and supportive team—including Safety Advisors, Emergency Management and Child Safety specialists—you’ll play a key role in promoting sustainable return-to-work outcomes and embedding meaningful wellbeing initiatives that support our employees' mental, physical, and social health. You’ll work closely with leaders, employees, HR Business Partners, and the Senior Workplace Relations Advisor to ensure a proactive and supportive approach to employee wellbeing and injury management across Council. If you’re driven by early intervention, person-centred support, and creating a psychologically safe workplace—this is your opportunity to make a genuine difference. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the design and delivery of Council’s Employee Wellbeing Plan, creating initiatives that are engaging, relevant, and aligned with our values. - Champion wellbeing programs that support mental and physical health, and foster positive, connected workplace relationships. - Drive a proactive, best-practice injury management framework focused on early intervention, recovery at work, and holistic support. - Manage workers’ compensation claims with care and confidence, ensuring compliance and sustainable return-to-work outcomes. - Partner with leaders to build capability and embed a culture where wellbeing and support are part of everyday practice. To view the **Position Description**, click **here**. **About you** **_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_** - Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or a related field with relevant work experience in a similar role or lesser formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience in a similar role. - Proven expertise in managing workers' compensation claims and developing effective injury management frameworks that focus on early intervention and sustainable return-to-work outcomes. - Experience in developing and implementing wellbeing programs that support mental, physical, health in the workplace. - Completion of Return-to-Work Coordinator training or equivalent experience in coordinating return-to-work processes. - A current Victorian Driver’s Licence. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organisation and provide leadership in injury management and employee wellbeing. **Culture and Values** Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
