As a Supported Independent Living (SIL) Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. You will lead a team of support workers dedicated to assisting clients in their journey towards greater independence, helping them to develop essential life skills, manage daily tasks, and reach their personal goals.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Team Leadership**:

- Supervise and guide a team of support workers to ensure the highest quality of care and support for clients.
- Conduct regular team meetings, providing feedback and coaching to enhance team performance.
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to develop and implement effective strategies for client care and team development.
- On-call and rostering duties when necessary.

**Client Support**:

- Assess individual client needs, strengths, and goals, and develop personalized support plan and risk assessment documents.
- Assist clients in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal hygiene, to promote independence.
- Provide emotional and social support, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for clients.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and support provided.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory and funding agencies.
- Maintaining a positive relationship with all stakeholders and attending meetings as well as visits as necessary.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe living environment for clients.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance at all times.

**Communication**:

- Foster effective communication between team members, clients, their families, and external service providers.
- Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:
Preferred:

- Diploma or certificate IV in Disability or Individual Support will be highly regarded.
- Client preference for female staff.

Essential:

- Previous experience in the disability support field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Training for, and at least 6 months experience in, diabetes management.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in the field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
