Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager - Operations as our Head of Quality Assurance you will have deep Quality Assurance knowledge in the Meat Processing industry including HACCP knowledge, System improvement and export requirements. The Head of Quality Assurance will be an expert in QA with a passion for maintaining the highest standards and ability to lead the way in ensuring product excellence and compliance.

Whilst this role will not have any direct reports, the Head of Quality Assurance will play a pivotal role in supporting and developing the Quality Assurance teams across our multiple sites.

Our sites are based in Brisbane, Burleigh Heads, Inverell, Croppa Creek, Sydney and Cooma and this role has the ability to be based in Brisbane, Burleigh and Inverell. As a visible member of our senior leadership team, you will be required to travel every 4 - 6 weeks to our major processing sites at Inverell and Cooma.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, manage, and improve the internal **audit schedule** to ensure continuous compliance and operational excellence.
- **Track, record, and report** audit outcomes, identifying key areas for improvement.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of **HACCP protocols**, ensuring food safety and quality standards are consistently met.
- Collaborate on **system improvements** to streamline operations and enhance quality control processes.
- **Monitor compliance claims**, ensuring all processes align with both customer and regulatory expectations.

What you will bring:

- **Meat industry experience** is essential.
- **Tertiary education** in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Proven experience with **HACCP** and food safety protocols.
- Strong background in **system improvement** and quality assurance methodologies.
- Ability to understand and implement **market access** requirements and specific programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
