About the role
The position delivers high quality; evidence based Social Work clinical services in the treatment of consumers with complex mental health issues, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders, in an inpatient Crisis Stabilisation Facility (CSF) under a Short Stay Unit (SSU). This position operates as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on the provision of mental health crisis care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.
About you
- Staff are expected to possess knowledge of, or have the ability to acquire knowledge of, principles of patient-centred care, recovery-focussed care and trauma-informed care.
- Exercise increasingly independent clinical judgement and core problem solving skills and appropriate risk management strategies to a complex caseload with supervision from a more senior clinician, commensurate with level of knowledge and clinical expertise.
- Address psychosocial and systemic/ structural barriers to engagement within recovery orientated treatment and care including screening for adverse childhood events, quality of life and wellbeing using tools including but not limited to the Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) screening tool; Psychosocial Acuity Scale; World Health Organisation Quality of Life Scale and the Wellbeing Assessment, common assessment tool (CAT).
- Provide robust assessment of consumer's capacity and decision making adopting a least restrictive approach that is domain and time specific to decisions that need to be made.
