Operating for over 20 years, Lady of Grace Aged care is a small, boutique home offering individualised care and services. The home overlooks five acres of beautiful natural parkland in Dural. With a third of our residents from an Italian background, we have focused on a European theme in the recent refurbishment of the upper level, creating a welcoming and warm ambience.

If yes, this is the role for you Food is a particularly important part of our Residents' lives. Food is a key part of our Italian culture. We are seeking a catering assistant/ Cook who understands this and wants to exceed expectations. Working hours will be on call 7 days a week, 6AM to 1400/ afternoon 1600 to 2000 hours and short shift 10AM to 1400 hours with the possibility of becoming part time.

You will report to the General Manager and will provide great food and dining experiences. Your experience in bulk food preparation, aged care food preparation and offering a fantastic dining experience are essential.

Responsibilities: Support the day-to-day delivery of food services.
- All aspects of food preparation and cooking, preparing recipes and menus
- Liaise with General Manager and recreational team for residents requiring preparation of special diets
- Prepare a selection of varied food choices
- Active participation in the Food Safety Program
- Maintenance of the highest standards of food services in our home
- Responsible for the ordering, storage and labelling of food as required.
- Ordering of stock, budget control and minimisation of food wastage as
- required
- Prepare and present food within set time frames.
- Responsible to mentor and supervise catering assistant

Key skills and competencies required:

- Certificate of Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Aged care experience essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven capabilities in cost controls
- Must have valid work rights and Police Check
