**The Opportunity**

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Welding Inspection Technician in our Services and Manufacturing Excellence team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

**What Will You Do?**

In addition to performing visual inspections on fit-ups and welded joints across the Port Kembla Steelworks you'll:

- manage and develop Welding Procedure Specifications /Welding Procedure Qualification Record developments and site inspections
- issue NDT requests - overseeing Non-Destructive Testing activities, and reviewing report
- compiling and reviewing Manufacturing Data Reports and related quality documentation
- providing technical guidance to onsite teams

**More About You**

As someone with a strong commitment to safety who ensures standards are upheld, you'll have:

- trade background or equivalent in welding, pipefitting, or boilermaker welding
- Certification such as CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent (desirable)
- AS1796 Cert 10 certification would be advantageous but not necessary as we are willing to train
- proven experience in the Structure Welding, with a focus on welding and fitting
- experience in Heavy Fabrication, Pressure Piping & Pressure Vessels
- a proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and also enjoy working in a team
