Melbourne, Australia Bupa Full time

You might think you already know a lot about Bupa. You’ll know we provide health insurance and aged care services across Australia, and you’ve probably also seen our dental and optical clinics in your local shopping centres. But what you might not realise is that we also provide support to several government departments including delivering health services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel and their families in Australia.

The Australian Defence Force Health Services Contract (ADFHSC) provides integrated and seamless end-to-end health support to 85,000 Australia Defence Force (ADF) personnel across 59 facilities. This includes an integrated workforce providing health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation, health administration, pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, mental health, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport and other off base services enabled by Bupa systems.

Due to an internal movement, we are currently recruiting for a talented Data and Analytics Manager to join our ADF Health Services Contract, based from anywhere in Australia

**About the role**

In this people-focussed but detail-driven role, you will lead and manage a team of data reporting and insights analysts to deliver service-led reporting, analytics, and insights products to facilitate data-driven business decision making within the Contract.

Managing a team of four Analysts you will:

- Lead the team to ensure requirements and needs of the ADFHS business are being met. Inherent in this is the coordination of responsibilities and tasks across the data & analytics team.

- Support the implementation the Health Services data strategy and road map within the ADFHSC by engaging with internal and external customers, implementing new reporting/analytics/modelling, or supporting the improvement of data flows, data processing or data storage.
- Working with ADFHS business units to execute operational, commercial, contractual and customer insights reporting

You’ll also maintain your own pipeline of ‘on the tools’ work, including:

- Prepare data for reporting. Complete any data mining needed to prepare new fields or measures.
- Develop new reports in PowerBI or other reporting tools (e.g. Excel, SAS)
- Trouble-shoot technical problems within existing reporting.
- Implement enhancements to existing reporting.
- Creating and implementing data governance protocols where required in coordination with the data governance team.

You’ll partner with the business to not only deliver data insights but help them understand what this means to the business, where there are gaps and opportunities for improvements, and ultimately help deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes for Defence Members.

**About you**

We’re looking for an adaptable communicator who can lean into the communication styles of multiple stakeholders. You’ll have expert level influencing skills, as well as an inherent ability to translate technical and specialist information to non-technical cohorts. You’ll be great with people, happy to help, adjustable and flexible to ad-hoc and urgent activity, comfortable working in a constantly changing environment with many competing priorities and be able to work largely autonomously. Most importantly though, you’ll have a commitment to improving outcomes for our customers, who are at the heart of everything we do.

You’ll also need:

- Ability to generate and interpret data and statistical outputs to make recommendations that align to risk appetites and business objectives.
