
Project Officer- Procurement

**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:
The Project Management Office works collaboratively with key delivery areas to develop frameworks, tools, and guidance material to facilitate standardisation and continuous improvement of project management and procurement within the department. As a part of your role, you will sit within the Project Management Office (PMO) and reports to the Senior Officer Grade A (Senior Director) in a small team environment.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Deliver procurement support using Whole of Government systems and Industry resources and maintaining some inhouse guidance /processes.
- Monitor and report compliance with Legislation, Policy, and Frameworks, delivering training and strategic initiatives collaborating with PMO colleagues.
- Develop capability across the range of areas, such as strategic and analytical thinking, teamwork, and change management.
- Identify and prioritise issues and implement practical solutions, including knowing when to escalate issues.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement /administration support roles in public sector or large organisations with comparable business rules, systems, and processes.
- Experience in analysing, vouching, and interrogating financial and contract data, operating financial systems and data bases, carrying out quality assurance, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Experience conducting training and supporting Business Units with operational issues.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement support, including supporting teams delivering high value projects and capital works.
- Experience using MS office and other software packages, electronic records management software, and a proven ability to interpret legislation, policies, and guidance.
- Demonstrated skills in complying with quality outputs for mandated reporting.
- Procurement qualifications.
- Experience in compliance reporting, preparing, delivering, updating training resources and related materials and use of data bases and quality assurance.
