Disability Support Worker

We are currently seeking a female support worker to join our Ongoing Casual pool in the Southern Region immediately.
- Qualifications and experience in Aged Care or Home and Community Care.
- Willingness to take on transport shifts with a current driver’s license, a reliable roadworthy vehicle, and full comprehensive car insurance.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive and able to think on your feet.
- Experience working with clients who have dementia or challenging behaviours, or those requiring palliative care (desirable but not essential).
- Experience supporting clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds (advantageous).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compassionate, dedicated, reliable, honest, ethical, willing to learn, and able to work autonomously.
- Must be able to travel to various locations efficiently.
Role:
As a support worker, you will be responsible for delivering quality care to clients in their own homes. Duties may include personal care (showering, grooming, dressing), domestic support (cleaning, meal preparation, laundry), transport to appointments and activities, in-home respite, and providing companionship. Shifts are available at various times of the day, including sleepover shifts, based on client needs (2 to 4-hour minimum).
**Requirements**:
- Certificate III in Aged Care / Disability / Individual Support, or second-year nursing students.
- Experience in Manual Handling.
- Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated.
- Victorian Driver’s License and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Police Check (within 3 months).
- First Aid Certificate (within 3 years).
- CPR Certificate (within 1 year).
- Working with Children Check.
- Infection Control Certificate.
- Drivers Licence.
- Smartphone.
- ABN as an Independent Contractor (desirable).
- 2 professional references.
