Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently seeking a
**Decarbonisation Specialist **in order to grow the Decarbonisation Team of its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the fast-growing demand for decarbonisation in critical metals projects.

The Decarbonisation Specialist supports the Technical Director of Decarbonisation in the development of emission assessments, carbon reporting and decarbonisation strategies to support our customers in their goal to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. This role promises to deliver to those looking for an exciting and meaningful role in an inclusive and successful team.

A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery, Magnet and Renewable Energy metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Nickel, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. The Decarbonisation Team has a crucial role in the low-carbon future production of these critical metals.

As a key part of the Wood Decarbonisation team, you will be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to:

- Supporting the Wood Mining and Minerals Project Studies management and business development teams in the development of emissions reduction and energy improvement programs
- Supporting project management collaboration with customers on carbon footprint assessments and emissions reduction pathway development
- Coordinating and compiling greenhouse emissions (Scope 1, 2 & 3) and energy reporting, including data compilation, verification, assurance and benchmarking
- Reviewing and analysing carbon intensity data and developing recommendations for emissions reduction and renewable energy integration for projects and designs
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of emissions and energy reporting systems, tools, and procedures
- Supporting and the development of climate change management systems which align with the customer’s requirements and include carbon policy, procedures and standards for carbon assessments, carbon management and reduction strategies
- Contributing to the strategic direction and scope for our decarbonisation service offerings
- Supporting the analysis of climate and carbon markets, relevant to the Mining and Minerals group, and compiles reports as required.

Skills / Qualifications:
What will set you apart from other applicants will be your understanding of climate change, emissions reporting or renewable energy. You will also have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Carbon and Energy Management, or other relevant (similar) discipline
- Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritise, balance short and long-term priorities and manage simultaneous projects
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, including ability to translate complex technical information into stakeholder communications
- Data management and analytical/modelling skills
- Interpersonal and engagement skills
- Collaborative approach to working with colleagues, customers, and external parties to deliver results
- High level of competency using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other relevant software tools to support emissions modelling, reporting and data analysis
- Experience in construction, mining and or resource development would be advantageous
- Experience in emissions and energy-related roles in industry or consulting would be beneficial but is not a requirement
- Experience in corporate climate, emissions, and energy reporting in the context of broader strategic climate change drivers and reporting frameworks such as TCFD and would be beneficial but is not a requirement
