Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA) is seeking a Tool Designer to join our team in Port Melbourne.

The Tool Designer will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks in support of tooling used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. You will undertake the investigation and resolution of tooling issues including new & modified tooling designs, tooling dispositions, preparation of tooling use instructions, and the provision of technical support to Tooling Quality Assurance.

**About the role**:
Key Responsibilities include;
- Investigation and timely resolution of tooling issues / problems encountered during production
- Assessment and disposition of Tool Non-Conformance issues
- Development and preparation of tooling designs and drawings for both new and modified production tooling
- Maintaining tool configuration control through the effective use of the BAA TRACS database system
- Provision of technical support to Tool Quality Assurance including analysis and verification of data produced by co-ordinate measuring machines
- Liaison with internal and external suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification / manufacture
- Ensuring that tooling designs prepared comply with government and state legislation and regulations as they relate to OH&S requirements
- Ensuring the delivery of all work assignments are completed in an effective and efficient manner

**About you**
- Trade qualifications in Drafting desirable or relevant experience
- Experience using CATIA V5 software mandatory
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving
- Exposure to Quality Assurance processes and procedures
- Understanding of OH&S implications within the field
