**Description**: Powertech Services is an Electrical Engineering Services provider delivering HV/LV and E&I Testing, Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance services to our clients in Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities/Power Generation, Renewable Energy & Defence sectors across the Australasia region. Due to a consistent rate of company growth, which is paving the way for further expansion into local markets, we currently have a requirement for High Voltage Technicians to join us on a full-time permanent basis. To be considered for this role, applicants either need to live locally or be willing to relocate, if locating to Brisbane from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand we would be happy to discuss relocation costs. The primary objective of a High Voltage Technician within Powertech will be to carry out the instructions of their line Manager and/or Senior High Voltage Technician. You will be required to perform complex technical activities associated with maintaining, operating, testing, and commissioning of protection systems and equipment. This role also has the potential of national travel on a project-by-project basis. **Technical responsibilities include but are not limited to**: - Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV primary plant including power transformers & HV Cables. - Basic secondary system testing and fault finding. - Assist in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works. - Carry out JSAs or CTAs prior to commencing any new works in order to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls. **Experience, skills and qualifications**: - Must hold "A Grade" (Fitter and Mechanic) Electrical Workers License. - Diploma in Power Systems or similar would be highly regarded however is not a prerequisite. - Minimum 5 years' HV technical experience. - Experience using Omicron 256/356 secondary injection test equipment using Omicron 256/356 secondary injection test equipment. - High theoretical and practical knowledge with all HV primary plant and basic secondary systems - HV Switching Ticket preferred. - Mining, Oil & Gas experience preferred. - Working knowledge of appropriate Australian and International Standards and Codes of Practice relevant to the HV Industry. - Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures. - Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule and budget requirements. - Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism & communication This is an excellent opportunity to share and build on your existing knowledge and work with a well-established team of industry professionals in the field.
