**Full time up to 12 months, Clerk Grade 5/6**
- A newly created role that will actively contribute to the ingestion and preservation of the Library’s digital collections.

- Competitive remuneration package up to $115,654 p.a. (package includes salary between $93,295 - $102,941 p.a., plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

**About the State Library**
The State Library of New South Wales is one of Australia's oldest and most important public institutions. Collecting actively since 1826, the Library preserves and presents the social, cultural and scientific history of our State and our Nation for the benefit of all.

**About the Role**
The Digital Preservation Technical Assistant will work with the Systems & Applications team to support the technical analysis, quality control, ingestion preparation, ingestion and management of digital content into the Library’s digital preservation system. The role will contribute to making our unique and engaging digitised content accessible through our catalogue, featured in online and onsite campaigns.

The position will structure and prepare digital content for ingestion into the digital preservation system and undertake, troubleshoot and monitor ingestion of these assets to meet regular workflow cycles and agreed deadlines.

The Digital Preservation Technical Assistant will assist in developing and testing batch and PowerShell scripts to automate manual tasks and produce reports and statistical analysis to demonstrate the throughput of the ingestion and preservation activities.

**Knowledge and Experience**
To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge and experience:

- Demonstrated experience managing and analysing large volumes of digital data and / or relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience in the management of digital assets, including quality assurance/control principles, technical and visual file quality standards, knowledge of metadata and processing workflows.
- Experience with assessment and transfer of large volumes of digitised assets.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with software tools used in digitisation/file processing workflows.
