The role The Principal Finance Officer provides leadership and expertise to ensure timely and accurate delivery of departmental general-purpose financial statements. You will ensure compliance with legislative and prescribed requirements including the Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Reporting Requirements.
You will be required to provide specialist and professional advice at all levels of management relating to financial accounting and financial reporting. Additionally, you will develop and maintain appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems to facilitate and promote sound financial reporting across Queensland Health.

**The successful personYou will have demonstrated**:

- experience in providing comprehensive and all rounded advice to all levels of management and stakeholders.
- leadership skills and success in the management of continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of financial accounting.
- expertise in the use of contemporary financial management information technology, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation, and analysis of information and in formulating recommendations and reports to management.
- high level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills, with proven experience in coaching and effectively guiding other team members.
