SEC - Group are seeking an experienced and hands-on Health, Safety and Quality Manager to join their management team, based in the Adelaide CBD. A background in the mining and construction industries will be highly regarded.

**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
With a genuine commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety and quality performance, the Health, the Safety & Quality Manager holds the responsibility of overseeing and development of all aspects of HSEQ and ensuring compliance cross the company, in accordance with the HSE Management Plan.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Create and lead safety and quality initiatives and processes within the company
- Foster a workplace culture that is consistent with the company culture, emphasising company values
- Develop and maintain existing health, quality and safety systems, policies and procedures to deliver an industry leading health and safety culture
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, standards and WHS policy
- Manage workplace and project site audits, assessments, and inspections; follow up results and implement required changes
- Collaborate with clients’ and contractors’ safety and management representatives to meet WHS requirements
- Manage the identification and mitigation of hazards and the reporting and investigation of incidents
- Proactively report to the executive management team and provide HSEQ advice
- Create and lead cross-functional business teams to embed HSEQ initiatives including mentoring, proactive reporting, safety committees and audits.
- Provide and monitor training in HSEQ systems to internal stakeholders
- Manage subcontractor compliance
- Review and prepare HSEQ and other project related documentation
- Ensure a continual improvement process in place that is both user friendly and updated on regular basis as required.
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in accordance with the HSE Development and Implementation Plan.
- Manage the organisation’s Return to Work program.
- Ensure incident and hazard reports are completed correctly and that corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Ensure workplace inspections are completed correctly and that corrective actions are effectively implemented.

**‘What you look like’ and need to demonstrate to be successful’.**

This position is great fit for an experienced WHS leader with exposure to Quality within the construction or mining industries.

Your ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationships at all levels of the business will be critical to your success, as will be your “can do” attitude and ability to both lead and deliver.

You will also demonstrate:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a relevant industry
- A formal WHS qualification or substantial industry experience
- Proven experience in establishing, implementing and maintaining effective and relevant business specific health and safety management systems, policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- High level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills
- Extensive understanding of relevant legislation, practices and standards
- Proficiency in using and navigate Microsoft Office suite
- Ability and willingness to travel to various sites when required
- Current Australian driver’s license
