**The Opportunity**
Join our Enterprise Platforms team to lead, deliver and optimise key platforms and middleware solutions within the AWS Cloud. As the Platforms & Middleware Lead, you will lead a team of engineers to administer, upgrade, and support critical systems that enable essential services. You'll shape the future of platforms and middleware through strategic planning and delivery of upgrades, ensuring robust contingency and recovery measures are in place.

Collaborating with cloud engineering teams, project groups, and technical owners, you’ll play a vital role in optimising platform performance and resolving technical challenges. You’ll also engage with service management teams and external providers to ensure efficient incident resolution aligned with best practices.

**About You**
With your strong technical background and collaborative approach, you are ready to drive innovation and optimise platform performance. To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes:

- **Expertise in platforms and middleware solutions**, with experience administering, upgrading, and supporting cloud-based systems, particularly within AWS environments.
- **Strong collaboration skills**, working effectively with cross-functional teams, external service providers, and technical stakeholders to optimise platform performance and resolve issues.
- **Strategic planning abilities**, including experience developing and delivering platform roadmaps, upgrades, and contingency plans.
- **Proven leadership experience** in managing technical teams, mentoring staff, and driving performance within established processes and systems.
- **Problem-solving and incident management experience**, ensuring technical issues are resolved efficiently and in line with service management processes and best practices.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Formal Qualifications in IT related discipline.
- Technology service management (ITMG) Level 5.
- IT Infrastructure (ITOP) Level 5.
- Systems and software life cycle engineering (SLEN) Level 5.

**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required. This role may be required to provide rostered after-hours on-call support throughout the year.
- **Renumeration**
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 pa + superannuation.
