**About the team**

The NSW Government has a vision for vibrant and growing regional economies, providing NSW residents with more jobs, greater opportunities, and better quality of life. As part of the Regional Rail project, we are building a new train maintenance centre in Dubbo - named Mindyarra - to stimulate the regional economy and help create sustainable job opportunities and skills, both directly and through subcontractors and supply chain. The Jobs, Skills and Industry Participation (JSIP) Program aims to develop the skills of regional small to medium enterprises, helping them tender more successfully for this and future projects while also providing employment pathways for apprentices, trainees, graduate placements and work experience opportunities.

**The Opportunity**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division has a fantastic opportunity for a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to partner with the JSIP Advisory Group and Aboriginal Working Group and achieve meaningful outcomes for regional and Aboriginal communities. This Permanent full-time role will partner with the Senior Manager to develop and implement communications and engagement strategies that support the JSIP Program initiatives.

Join the Community and Place branch, and leverage your experience, community relationships, knowledge of the business, and critical thinking skills to provide strategic advice and guidance to leaders, partners, and key stakeholders across the division. Community and Place’s purpose is to lead engagement with NSW regional communities and stakeholders supporting integrated transport outcomes. This role is expected to develop, deliver and advise on high-value future-focused communication and engagement strategies for key programs such as the Pre-Employment Programs in partnership with the Regional Rail Program.

**What you will be involved in**
- Manage and oversee the delivery of strategic communications and engagement activities in line with Transport’s vision, values and business priorities
- Manage and oversee the development of engaging, impactful and targeted content and campaigns that resonates with key audience groups, in turn driving engagement that builds relationships and ultimately achieves business outcomes.
- Identify and proactively create opportunities for staff to build relationships across the business and develop their knowledge of the business and their skills to increase commitment and engagement amongst the team.
- Inspire and drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of appropriate metrics that evaluate the success of communications and engagement strategies and initiatives
- Provide specialist advice and support to Jobs Skills and Industry Participation (JSIP)/Regional Development teams relating to managing communications and stakeholder engagement, including attending related stakeholder meetings, events and managing the preparation, production and release of communications and media
- Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good.

**About You**

You are tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline such as communications, media, journalism, or public relations and likely have extensive experience leading and managing various business activities and projects within either local/ state government, Construction, Education, or another relevant field.

You will have superior written and verbal communication skills and will be enthusiastic about developing relationships and collaborating to facilitate change. Demonstrated political acumen and associated understanding of the nuances of public sector policy development are essential.
