Disability Support Worker

**Seeking a Dedicated Female Support Worker for Long-Term Engagement**

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate female support worker to join our team in providing person-cantered support to Jason, a member with complex needs. This role offers consistent hours and the opportunity to work closely with another support worker to ensure continuity and high-quality care.

**Hours of Work**
- **Monday**: 4 hours (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
- **Tuesday to Thursday**: 3 hours daily (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
- **Friday**: 5 hours (2:30 PM - 7:30 PM)
- **Saturday**: 5 hours (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
- **Sunday**: 4 hours (2:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

**Role Expectations**

**About Jason**

Jason is in his mid-30s and has Prader-Willi Syndrome, which includes behaviours influenced by food. He enjoys Thai boxing and attends classes approximately four times a week. He is a fan of martial arts, enjoys outings, and regularly goes to the swimming pool. Jason’s support also involves assistance with medical appointments, meal preparation, medication administration, house maintenance and outings in the community.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide person-centred support tailored to Jason's individual needs.
- Prepare and manage meals, considering dietary needs and behavioural triggers related to food.
- Administer medication responsibly and as directed.
- Support Jason during outings, swimming, and Thai boxing classes.
- Assist with medical appointments.
- Work independently and confidently while following provided instructions.
- Handle tasks requiring flexibility and resilience, including personal care and occasional messy or demanding work.

**Requirements**:

- A strong sense of responsibility and common sense.
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
- Willingness to commit to a long-term role and build a positive relationship with Jason.
- Ability to work collaboratively with another support worker and Coordinator, and independently as needed.
- Comfort with preparing meals and supporting Jason’s diabetes management.
- A calm and patient approach, particularly during challenging moments.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $38.60 - $68.02 per hour

Expected hours: 27 per week
