**About the role**

The Risk and Governance Officer supports the delivery and improvements to the development and oversight of the enterprise risk management policies, frameworks, standards, procedures, supporting tools and templates and drives embedding better risk management practices across the department. Supports the oversight of activities associated with coordinating, maintaining and embedding the respective enterprise risk management framework components, supporting uplifting risk management capabilities and awareness to improve risk governance and risk informed decision making across the department. The role also provides Audit and Risk Committee secretariat services and support and undertakes a broad range of research, analysis, advisory and administrative activities within the Chief Risk Office.

The Chief Risk Office is the department’s trusted source of expertise on public sector risk, enterprise risk governance, enterprise risk management and controls. Risk management improves performance, encourages innovation and supports the achievement of the department’s objectives.
