**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**
We are committed to empowering futures, ensuring rights and enriching lives. We support people to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future as we ourselves strive to be a model employer.

We provide the framework for fair and productive relationships between employers and employees. We also oversee skills development and training initiatives to support those entering the workforce or re-training to take advantage of emerging employment opportunities.

With us, your work directly contributes to shaping the employment landscape. Whether you are engaging in policy development, program implementation, or direct support services, your efforts will have a tangible impact on job seekers, employees and the economy by giving them a framework to build a future anchored and realised through employment.

It is our ambition to do things differently, to create the ‘department of great jobs’- where our people reflect our purpose.

**The Role**
The Workforce Australia Provider Support Division is responsible for the frontline delivery of Australian Government-funded skills and employment programs, as well as place-based strategies that help ensure employers have access to skilled workers. The Division works closely with our department’s policy and program areas and uses its unique position within each state and territory to gather intelligence that informs strategic, evidence-based responses to labour market needs and to advance government priorities.

The Division has strong relationships with training and employment services providers, employers, and industry associations as well as strategic relationships with other Commonwealth, State/Territory, and local government agencies.

Our providers deliver a suite of programs to help parents, young people, Indigenous Australians, and people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds to overcome barriers to gain employment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS5 Level may include:

- Review how employment service providers are performing, draw evidence-based conclusions, and offer honest, unbiased advice to support quality service monitoring.
- Collect information from various sources, use your experience to identify what matters, and communicate insights clearly and confidently.
- Build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders. Respect and leverage the expertise of others to support departmental goals, including regional projects.
- Understand broader factors that affect team objectives. Track progress, manage priorities, and find innovative ways to improve outcomes and solve problems.
- Work well with others, value diverse perspectives, share knowledge, and keep the team informed. Offer support when needed.
- Record and share local labour market insights. Connect day-to-day tasks with the department’s mission and contribute ideas to policy and program development.
- Investigate complex issues in service delivery and provider operations. Seek feedback and escalate matters when necessary.
- Support branch activities and demonstrate behaviours that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Some domestic travel, which may include overnight trips.
