**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities may include:
- Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines
- Supports communication between teachers and parents
- Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities
- Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals, and lifting
- Communicating with student/s to support comprehension of basic tasks and information
- Addresses immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure
- Provides basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting
- Supports teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under mínimal supervision, including rostering and organising the work of a team of aides, providing routine co-ordination, guidance, and support to other student support staff, liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources, assisting teachers with the communication of student outcomes and educational programs
- Provides medical intervention support to a student/s, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance
- Provides specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and braille

**Other Information**:
**Hours of work: 10.30am - 2.30 pm, (Monday to Friday) 5 days a week**
The First Aid Officer/Administration has the responsibility for all first aid enquiries, administering/performing first aid, first aid administration/records, and managing the First Aid/Sickbay area. The role requires close interaction with a range of staff, students and parents.
The successful applicant must have First Aid qualifications, experience in a similar capacity, strong administration and written communication skills and a commitment to treating all students, staff and parents with dignity, respect and kindness.
**Responsibilities**
Medical Support:
- Provide primary First Aid care to sick or injured students and staff.
- Communicate with parents regarding students' immediate and ongoing medical needs.
- Administer medications as per medical plans and maintain accurate records.
- Be aware of any students with specific health conditions, chronic illnesses and disabilities and understand how to respond to emergencies and administer first aid or support those with those conditions. Preparedness to attend training as required.
- Liaise with relevant staff regarding student well-being and medical conditions.
- Ensure student medical alerts are up to date and communicated effectively to staff.
- Liaise with parents/carers ensuring medication and medical plans are up to date.

- Record all details of first aid attendances and parent communications on Compass Sickbay log
