**Role Summary**:
The Market Modelling Lead is responsible to lead, coach and mentor a team of modelling analysts, with overall accountability for key business deliverables aligned to the purpose of the team.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Manage and oversee complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of market data and dynamics to inform decision-making and enable evaluation and explanation of market outcomes.
- Accountable to maintain Synergy’s Plexos model and delivering robust analysis and scenario modelling over a 20-year horizon.
- Lead development of end-to-end modelling process for Synergy’s long-term supply position, establishing and maintaining robust and repeatable data management processes.
- Support the development of market assumptions underpinning generation mix and dispatch modelling, ensuring a robust and repeatable process that maintains integrity of assumptions and model outputs, meets internal governance requirements and facilitates engagement with stakeholders on key insights and decisions.
- Communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels to efficiently deliver the key messages of Synergy’s generation and dispatch mix insights.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, finance, mathematics and/or statistics).
- Relevant experience in market or supply modelling applied to commercial analysis, preferably in the energy industry.
- Experience leading cross-functional engagements with business stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of energy or utility business models and value chains impacting financial outcomes.
- Ability to interpret and communicate commercial implications from complex concepts and interactions effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
