**Your role**:

- The Head of Department (HOD) - Junior English and Humanities will be responsible for working with the Leadership and Management Team to enact the school's ongoing improvement agenda
- Visible Learning, Visible Expertise and Visible Progress.
- The HOD Junior English/Humanities is instrumental in working as part of the school's leadership team to provide targeted and timely interventions to maximise each students' learning. In this role you will develop and nurture positive working relationships with, and between, students, parents and staff to personalise education for individual students in a large and complex school community.
- The successful applicant will significantly contribute to a high expectations school culture that is focussed on continuous improvement to maximise each student's performance and potential.

**Responsibilities Include**:
As the Head of Department - Junior English and Humanities, you will have responsibility for but not limited to the following:

- Building and maintaining positive staff culture within the Junior English and Humanities teaching team. Working collaboratively with HOD Senior English and HOD Senior Humanities and Deputy Principals to ensure alignment of curriculum and pedagogical practices. Developing the capacity of English and Humanities teachers to deliver high quality learning experiences for all students. Setting, monitoring, and maintaining high standards for student performance in Junior English and Humanities programs. Working collaboratively with all members of the Junior Performance Team to maximise each student's performance and potential. Actively participating in learning and ongoing professional development that enable you to improve both as a leader and a classroom teacher
