The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
**About the Group**
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Student Support Services Branch, Inner Gippsland Area, South Eastern Victoria Region, SRS. The Student Support Services Branch is a multi-disiplanary team responsible for a range of health and wellbeing services. The role reports to the Student Support Services Branch Manager.
**About the Role**
An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Specialist to join the Inner Gippsland Student Support Services (SSS) team. SSS Allied Health Specialist will hold a graduate or post-graduate qualification in one of the following Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work of Occupational Therapy. The role of the Allied Health Specialist is developing strategies that address barriers to education for children and young people within an educational context
- Classification: Allied Health Grade 3
- Employment Type: Ongoing, Fulltime(1.0 FTE)
- Location: Inner Gippsland (based at Leongatha Office)
**Attributes**
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, SSS Allied Health Professional will provide comprehensive discipline services to schools to support student engagement and learning and provide high-level professional advice to principals and school networks that strongly influence practice in local area schools.
**Desirable**Qualifications and Experience**
The successful applicant will possess a graduate or post-graduate qualification in one of the following Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy, be eligible for membership of the Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), Australian Association of Social Work (AASW), or member of APRA depending on discipline and possess a current Australian Drivers' Licence and Working with Children Check.
