DonateLife Victoria (DLV), under the direction of Australian Organ and Tissue Authority, works to maximise access for Australians to organ and tissue donation and transplantation through the implementation of national strategies and best practices. DLV works directly with 20 Victorian hospitals to ensure Victorians are able to fulfil their wishes to donate and that organ donation is an integral part of quality end of life care in Victoria. DLV is affiliated with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood)..
About the role
Organ and tissue donation saves lives, therefore we are looking for passionate and out-going individuals to help increase awareness at key community events throughout the year.
Working in a professional and supportive team, you will work in conjunction with staff and volunteers to support the functions of the volunteer program and contribute to community based health awareness activities.
As well as being advocates for helping Australians receive transplants through organ and tissue donation, you will be responsible for providing some administrative support for the communications team.

An outgoing personality with developed interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Experience in liaising with members of the public to advocate for a cause
Knowledge in providing administrative support and keeping accurate records
Availability to participate in key community engagement activities during peak times e.g. University O-Week program, DonateLife Week and festivals;
Able to succinctly and consistently communicate DonateLife’s corporate messages to members of the public
Enthusiastic to participate in all training required by DonateLife Victoria
This is a casual role and hours are allocated based on peak work times (event-based) which tend to fall on weekends. It is be based in Melbourne therefore being available to travel to various locations in the Melbourne metro region is important.
