The Role
The Training Development Officer will manage and coordinate course implementation activities for a variety of joint planning courses that are conducted for a wide range of stakeholders within the ADO. These activities will see you develop training materials, assist with instructor development, ensure instructors are delivering in accordance with approved Learning Management Packages, and ensure all training resources are available and up to date.
You will conduct a learning review that requires the preparation of a training review questionnaire, training assessments, conduct post course hot washes with both students and instructors, collate and analyse results, and develop a training review report.
You will assist in the refinement of individual lessons resulting from doctrine change, technology change, and scenario development. You will also contribute to analyse, design, develop and evaluate activities for courses conducted both internal and external to the Australian Defence Force Warfare Training Centre (ADFWTC).
About our Team
The Australian Defence Force Warfare Training Centre (ADFWTC), located on RAAF Base Williamtown near Newcastle, is responsible for the provision of Joint individual training for the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO), Other Government Agencies and selected foreign students. The Centre also assists with the training of Joint headquarters staff for operations and is structured to provide job-specific training in the concepts of joint warfare.
Approximately 20 courses are run during the year, reaching approximately one thousand students. The Training Development Officer will be part of a specialised team of training professionals who conduct Joint training, will be in a supportive team environment, and will have opportunities for professional development.
You will have the ability to provide professional advice in relation to complex work that contributes to the successful program of learning. You will have considerable stakeholder engagement, therefore you will need to be able to identify, anticipate and negotiate complex issues within a learning environment. You will have a team focus and build capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within ADFWTC.
