As a part of our 10-year strategic plan, we have a new role for a **Strategic Land Use Planning Specialist **within our growing** Integrated Solutions Group**.
The Integrated Solutions Group contributes to Urban Utilities’ purpose and vision and enhances the liveability of our communities through safeguarding financial and economic sustainability of the business, planning to meet the needs of our customers and management of the long-term water cycle and our environmental responsibilities.
Reporting to the Manager, Land Use Strategy, the Strategic Land Use Planning Specialist will be responsible for **providing planning and policy advice that aligns Urban Utilities’ Strategic Plans** for water and sewerage services and helps to achieve the liveability outcomes of the community and the Urban Utilities Servicing Strategies as identified through the Integrated Catchment Planning of the sewer system and the Integrated Zone Planning of the water supply system.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Manage the delivery of elements of the Land Use Planning Futures strategy (i.e. external papers, board and executive papers, policies and schemes reviews) that informs an aligned and approved approach regarding how Urban Utilities will shape and influence the Urban Planning Life Cycle to support our service strategies, integrated catchment plans and overall business objectives using the Olympics as a catalytic enabling opportunity.
- Link with developers and Local Government to support and contribute towards the development and implementation of integrated land use projects, plans and workflows to ensure Urban Utilities service provision. This work should include contributing to the strategic development and use of the Water Netserv Plan as a key framework underpinning interaction with the development sector and Local Governments.
- Analyse, evaluate the feasibility of technical and servicing solutions to complex strategic and tactical issues, including providing specialist advise on using existing infrastructure or identification of new approaches (technical, process, product) both in a strategic or a tactical perspective to offer sustainable growth opportunities for customers and communities which align with the Urban Utilities Servicing Strategy and Integrated Catchment Plans (sewer) and Integrated Zone Plans (water).
- In conjunction with Finance and Developer Services support the documentation, development and enhancement of the financial and investment workflows that the development sector has with Urban Utilities with the aim of ensuring appropriate financial arrangements for future infrastructure is in place (i.e infrastructure charges).
- Leads the development of the partnership strategy across all aspects of urban planning with Shareholding Councils and key agencies at local and state government levels and provide leadership in relation to influencing legislation and external policies associated to water services, regional growth planning, water cycle and environment management.
- Develop and implement a collaborative stakeholder engagement strategy and plans to ensure relevant stakeholders and key agencies at a local and state government level including those responsible for the Olympic precincts are identified, mutually supportive working relationships are established, and stakeholders have an appropriate share of voice when agreeing the Land Use Planning Future Strategy.
**About You**:
- Relevant Bachelor degree from a recognised institution and relevant industry knowledge and experience associated to either Economics, Policy, Law, Town Planning, Commerce or Business.
- Knowledge and understanding of integrated socio-economic, infrastructure and land use planning concepts and processes related to the Water NetServ Plan or local government infrastructure plans and planning schemes.
- Understanding and demonstrated experience in Queensland legislation for planning and land use matters.
- Knowledge and understanding of development assessment and infrastructure charging framework including the Queensland Planning legislation, SEQ Regional Plan, and planning schemes.
