About the role

An opportunity is now available for experienced kitchen hand to join our Patient Food Preparation team at Cabrini Hospital Malvern. This position assists in the preparation of food for our patients and maintenance of kitchen areas. The successful applicant needs to be prepared to work a variety of shifts including day and evening shifts across the week, weekends and public holidays as required.

Key responsibilities- Assisting in food preparation and retrieving of food items as requested by the chefs- Cleaning all surface areas, kitchen equipment and appliances including ovens and range-hoods- Washing dishes, including utensils and large pots, as well as other cooking equipment- Removing rubbish and wash out bins- Receiving and storing of food deliveries (heavy lifting involved)

About you

This role will suit an experienced kitchen hand/cleaner with experience gained in a domestic or commercial environment.

You will also have:
- Food Handlers Certificate (or the willingness to undertake at Cabrini)- Sound commitment in providing attention to detail with a high level of cleanliness and service excellence- Adaptability to work flexibly and efficiently in a fast paced environment with ability to perform heavy lifting as required- Demonstrate a great work ethic with the ability to work well collaboratively as part of a team- Well-developed communication skills including proficiency in written and spoken English
