**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Disability Adviser to join Student Services, People Services, Administrative Division.

The Disability Adviser plays a crucial role in supporting students to achieve equitable access and participation in their studies. Collaborating with the Disability and Accessibility Services team, the Adviser provides personalised guidance and develops Access Equity Plans (AEPs) to recommend reasonable adjustments. A key focus is monitoring and managing the online AEP renewal service to ensure timely and accurate support for students, particularly those enrolled at QUT College. Reporting to the Manager, Disability and Accessibility Services, the Disability Adviser contributes to embedding consistent practices across the team and maintaining a high standard of service. The role also involves staying informed about relevant legislation, emerging technologies, and best practices in disability support to ensure services align with current standards and innovations.

Description of People Services is under development (HR). Student Services is responsible for providing a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of students in areas of Accommodation, Chaplaincy, Counselling, Disability and Accessibility Support, International Student Support, Welfare and Financial Support Services and QUT Medical Centres..

**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in Disability Studies, Inclusive Education, Allied Health with four (4) years subsequent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of disability upon teaching and learning processes at a tertiary level.
- Proven ability to identify learning barriers and impacts, in response to a broad range of presentations/conditions, and determine appropriate reasonable adjustments.
- Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, combined with strong organisational abilities to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team, and to collaborate across organisational boundaries in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience using Simplicity Accommodate software or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills.
